In short
- You may use a product in your own business, for as long as you like, on as many of your own projects as you like.
- You may edit it, rebrand it and adapt it until it looks nothing like what we sold you.
- You may use it in work you deliver to your clients, and hand them the finished result.
- You may not sell, share or give away the file itself, edited or not, and you may not put it in a template library, a course, a membership or a training dataset.
- One purchase covers one business. A second company needs a second licence.
1What you are granted
When your payment for a product clears, MKTTOOL LLC grants you a worldwide, non exclusive, non transferable, perpetual licence to use that product under the conditions on this page.
Perpetual means the licence does not expire. Withdrawing a product from sale, or closing your account at your request, does not take away a licence you have paid for. Only a breach of this agreement does, and only in the way section 6 describes.
The licence covers the files delivered with your order and any update to those files that we publish and make available to you. It does not cover a different product.
2What you may do
Use it in your own business
Open it, fill it in, run your numbers in it, print it, store it on your own drives and your own cloud. There is no limit on the number of projects, campaigns, clients or years.
Change it
Edit the text, change the colours, drop in your logo, delete half of it, merge it with your own material, translate it, rebuild it in another tool. The result is yours to use.
Share it inside your organisation
Your employees and your contractors may use the product while they work for you. They are bound by this licence through you, and you are responsible for what they do with it. When a contractor leaves, their right to use the file ends with the engagement.
Use it for client work
You may use a product to produce deliverables for your clients, and you may hand your client the finished deliverable, including as an editable file.
Ask yourself what the client is paying for. If they are paying for your work, and the template is how you produced it, that is allowed. If they are paying for the template, that is resale, and it is not.
Show it
You may show a product in a portfolio, a case study, a pitch, a proposal or a screenshot, as long as the viewer cannot download a usable copy of the original file from what you publish.
3What you may not do
- Resell or redistribute the file. Not on a marketplace, not on your own site, not in a bundle, not for free, not edited, not translated, not converted to another format.
- Sublicense it. You cannot pass the right to use the product on to anyone else as a right of their own.
- Put it behind someone else's paywall. No membership site, no course, no subscription library, no Notion workspace sold to others, where the product or a derivative of it is what members receive.
- Build a competing product from it. Reworking our structure into a template you then sell is resale with extra steps.
- Make it downloadable from a public page. A link that anyone can click and get the file is redistribution, even if nobody pays.
- Use it to train a machine learning model, or submit it to a service that will use it as training data.
- Remove the copyright notice or the credit line from a file you redistribute to a client, where the file carries one.
- Register our content as your own intellectual property, or claim authorship of the underlying template.
- Use it in anything unlawful, deceptive or infringing, including spam, misleading claims and copied material.
4One licence covers one business
A single purchase licenses one legal entity, together with its employees and its contractors.
| Situation | Licences needed |
|---|---|
| You, a freelancer, using it for twelve different clients | One |
| An agency of nine people, one company, all using it | One |
| You own two companies and want it used in both | Two |
| A client asks you to hand over the blank template so their team can reuse it themselves | They buy their own |
| A partner agency you subcontract to wants to use it on their other accounts | They buy their own |
If your situation is not in that table, ask at support@mkttool.com before you assume. We answer plainly and we would rather you ask than guess.
5Extended and team licences
If you need rights beyond this page, for example to include a template inside a product of your own, to distribute it to a franchise network, or to put it in a course you sell, we can grant an extended licence. It is a separate written agreement and a separate price.
Write to support@mkttool.com describing what you want to do, how many end users are involved and whether they pay. We will tell you whether it is possible and what it costs.
6What happens if the licence is broken
If you use a product outside this licence, we will normally write to you first and ask you to stop. Most cases are a misunderstanding and end there.
If it is not resolved, the licence terminates automatically. You must then stop using the product, delete the files from your systems, and remove any copy you have published. Termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund, and does not prevent us from recovering what we have lost.
Deliverables you had already produced and handed to a client in good faith before the breach are not affected.
7Ownership stays with us
This is a licence, not a sale of the work. MKTTOOL LLC keeps the copyright and every other right in the products, including in parts you have edited. Your edits belong to you; the underlying template does not.
Fonts, icons, stock images and third party components included in a product are licensed to us by their own authors. Those components come to you under this licence for use inside the product, and not as standalone assets you may extract and reuse elsewhere, unless the product page says they are free to extract.
8Changes to this licence
We may update this page. A change applies to products bought after it is published. The licence that came with your order is the version that was live on the day you bought it, and a later change cannot reduce the rights you already paid for.
If you need to prove which version applied to an order, write to us with the order number and we will send you the text that was in force on that date.
